Sydney recruit Daniel Menzel admits he was slightly disappointed to have been delisted by former club Geelong.
Menzel was not offered a contract for the 2019 season by the Cats after failing to secure a deal to remain at GMHBA Stadium.
The 27-year-old forward is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his AFL career with the Swans.
“I was there nine years and obviously going through four ACL tears, you work with a lot of really good people and you build a lot of really good relationships," Menzel said.
“The fans there have always been good to me so there’s a little bit of that (disappointment) and you will miss the place.
“But at the same time a fresh start was something I was really looking forward to and to land at the Sydney Swans, I couldn’t have expected a better place.
“I did a lot of weighing up and I was happy to move.”
Taken with pick 17 in the 2009 National Draft, Menzel kicked 136 goals in 73 games for the blue and white hoops.
