St Kilda hierarchy mulling over pick four: McClure

2018-11-21T19:20+11:00

SEN Time On host Sam McClure believes members of St Kilda’s hierarchy are at loggerheads as to who they will select with pick four in Thursday night’s draft.

It has been widely tipped that the Saints will take injured forward Max King with their first selection, but another youngster has caught the eye of a club recruiter.

“There’s this in-house debate at St Kilda between who they take at pick four – either Max King, who is recovering from an ACL injury – or Connor Rozee,” McClure told SEN’s Time On.

“I think it’s Chris Liberatore, who is their national recruiting boss, really likes Rozee, and Simon Lethlean, who is their head of football, really likes King.

“Max King many recruiters believe would have gone pick one ahead of Sam Walsh had he not done his knee earlier in the year.”

McClure also revealed that St Kilda will be keeping tabs on Max’s brother Ben if he does end up at an interstate club.

“I also think when they take Max King with pick four, they’ll be keeping a keen eye on his brother Ben to see if they can get him back from the Gold Coast in two years time,” McClure added.

King underwent his rehab for his ACL injury at St Kilda.
