Andy Maher has received some mail about the return of the AFL and how it will play out.
The host of SEN’s Bob and Andy said he received a text message from someone suggesting footy will be back in mid-June with five weeks inside quarantine hubs.
“I’m not going to mention where this has come from, I’ll just say it’s someone who has been in the game for a long time and knows a lot of key people. He sent me this text message,” Maher told SEN.
“Five weeks in hubs – seven games. So they play every five days, they train mid-May, play mid-June.
“One hub in Queensland and one in Victoria. Reason for the hold up is medical advice. They won’t lock in anything they can’t deliver unlike the NRL.
“I’m also hearing the NRL will not be allowed to play on the 28th of May so they’ll look silly again. AFL very cautious, very responsible.”
