Delisted St Kilda forward Maverick Weller feels he still has plenty to offer if a club was to throw him an AFL lifeline.
Weller, 26, was not offered a contract for the 2019 season and will be seeking a move to a third club after previous stints with the Saints and Gold Coast.
A move to the Suns to reunite with his brother Lachie would be a “dream come true” for Weller.
“I feel like I’ve got plenty to add," Weller told SEN Afternoons.
“We’re talking to a few clubs at the moment but obviously with the trade period just finishing, I think everyone is digesting that, but we should know a bit more next week.
“I would love to play with my little brother (Lachie) - that would be a dream come true. I totally understand where they’re at going into a rebuild phase.
“But I feel like I can add so much to a club like that in terms of my experience, my leadership and what I can do as a player as well.
“In saying that, I also feel like I could contribute so much to a contender - a club with established leadership who is knocking on the door of finals or Grand Finals.”
Weller admits his delisting came as a shock after playing 89 games and booting 55 goals in five seasons for the red, white and black.
“It did come as a bit of shock,” he added.
“Sometimes you have to make tough discussions and I definitely don’t hold any hard feelings.”
