"I found out on social media": Lynn lashes Hohns after T20 snub

2019-10-23T08:28+11:00

Chris Lynn has taken aim at the lack of communication from selector chairman Trevor Hohns following his omission for the upcoming T20 internationals.

Lynn was overlooked for Australia’s T20 series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan despite being regarded as one of the premier domestic players in the format.

Speaking at Kayo’s summer of cricket launch, the Queensland batsman says he learned of his selection snub via social media.

"I haven’t spoken to him (Hohns). I find it’s something that’s ongoing and getting worse in Australian cricket - that lack of communication," Lynn told The Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday.

"I’m not just talking about my case. There are plenty of other scenarios where players feel a bit lost on where they stand. It's disappointing.

"The thing I was disappointed about was the lack of communication. Not even a phone call. I found out on social media.

"That’s the world we live in these days. But it is what it is. I kind of felt it was coming.”

Lynn will line up for the Prime Minister’s XI in their match against the touring Sri Lankans on Thursday.

The 29-year-old opted out of Queensland’s Marsh One-Day Cup campaign to play in the Euro T20 League and Afghanistan Premier League.

Those commitments ultimately fell through.
