"Take it or leave it": Port Adelaide's offer to Brad Crouch revealed

2020-10-13T17:02+11:00

Brad Crouch remains one of the most interesting free agents on the market heading into the trade period.

Likely to depart Adelaide as a restricted free agent, Crouch has been linked to the likes of Geelong, Richmond and crosstown rivals Port Adelaide.

Veteran journalist Michelangelo Rucci has revealed the most recent offer the Power have made to the midfielder, adding that it will likely have Crouch looking elsewhere.

“I’ll go as far as saying Port Adelaide has made it clear where they stand,” Rucci told SEN SA Drive.

“It is no longer a four-year deal, it is three and it is no longer (up for) haggling, it is 'this is the deal in the envelope for (Crouch’s manager) Gary Winter, take it or leave it'.

“Now, I would daresay the fact that Gary Winter hasn’t gone back to Port Adelaide is saying ‘well, that is all you’re offering, we’ll move on' and I think the next move on is Geelong.

“Geelong is probably the one that will give him four (years).

“The landscape has changed dramatically for Brad Crouch in the last 12 months.”

The 26-year-old played 12 games for Adelaide in 2020, dealing with a hamstring injury at stages.

Crouch is suspended for the opening two games of the 2021 season after being caught by police with an illicit substance last month.
