Every player left on the trade table after Wednesday's deadline

2022-10-12T20:10+11:00

Eight deals were done on Wednesday, but several big names are still at their respective clubs.

Here's all the players who didn't get their trade wish and where they now sit.

Hunter Clark (St Kilda)

Reports indicated Clark was keen to get to North Melbourne, but given he was in contract, St Kilda had every right to keep their man.

AFL Media’s Cal Twomey reported the Saints had offered Pick 9 and Clark in return for pick 3 - along with some later pick swaps - however this was knocked back by the Roos.

North Melbourne list manager Brady Rawlings confirmed the Roos “had a pretty good throw at the stumps”, but St Kilda set a high price on a trade for Clark.

Jeremy Sharp (Gold Coast)

The 21-year-old fringe Sun was seen as a lower priority for the Dockers, who were negotiating trades for Jaeger O’Meara, Rory Lobb and Lloyd Meek.

Gold Coast list manager Craig Cameron revealed to AFL Trade Radio after the deadline that Fremantle weren’t keen to offer more than a third round pick, falling short of Gold Coast’s demands of a second round pick.

He does have a contract at Gold Coast next year.

Esava Ratugolea (Geelong)

Geelong never caved and Ratugolea will stay at Kardinia park for 2023.

Port Adelaide confirmed to AFL Trade Radio that pick 33 was on the table, although Geelong refused that offer.

The Cats had previously indicated they rated Ratugolea highly, despite him managing 59 games in six years.

Brayden Fiorini (Gold Coast)

The 25-year-old was reported to get to Collingwood on the eve of the trade period, but interest in the Suns midfielder appeared to cool in recent days.

Fiorini plays a similar role to Tom Mitchell, with the Magpies eventually opting for the Brownlow Medallist in the dying minutes of the trade period.

He wanted to play regular senior footy after finding himself in and out of the Gold Coast side, but the Suns are reportedly more than happy to take him back.
