NRL rival make substantial offer for Storm star Addo-Carr

2020-12-04T08:00+11:00

After touring the club’s facilities last week, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have made a lucrative offer to Melbourne Storm star Josh Addo-Carr.

Addo-Carr is all but certain to return to Sydney next year, and the bumper offer could ensure he is one step closer to play in the Harbour City from 2022.

The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio told Andrew Voss that the Bulldogs’ offer is well in excess of $2 million over four years, while asking the star winger to respond within the next fortnight.

“It’s around a four-year deal for about $2 million dollars from the Dogs to Josh Addo Carr,” Riccio said on 1170 SEN Breakfast.

“It’s no real surprise here, we’ve always known the Bulldogs have been in the race.

“What I can tell you though is that the Bulldogs want an answer within the next two weeks from Josh Addo-Carr.

“They want to know before close of business this year, whether Josh will be at the club from 2022.”

While the Bulldogs offer is the best tabled so far, Riccio believes another rival club may come late to try and snare Addo-Carr from under their noses.

“My only inkling or information was that South Sydney were also making a play for Addo Carr,” Riccio added.

“So, I might just keep an eye on that over the next day or so.”

Currently, the highest paid winger in the NRL is Blake Ferguson, who reportedly earns $500,000 a year.

If Addo-Carr does accept the Dogs’ offer, it would make him comfortably the highest paid in his position in the NRL.
