Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew and senior assistant Josh Francou have had a falling out, according to Caroline Wilson.
Francou, who is set to depart the club at season’s end, reportedly posted about the selling of his house before informing the rest of the club.
“It’s emerged in the last week that Josh Francou, the senior assistant coach who came over from Adelaide, has fallen out certainly in the short term with Stuart Dew,” Wilson told Footy Classified.
“I think that things were tense early in the year. Francou’s had some family issues, they’re moving back to Adelaide at the end of the year.
“I think there was some concern in the mind of the other footy coaches whether Francou was at the top of his game.
“The pair had much harsher words about three weeks ago when the Francous sold their house and I think it was posted on a real estate Instagram.
“Dew was furious, he hadn’t had a chance to tell his players, the coaches, the other staff that Francou was leaving.
“This is the way it has been explained to me why the falling out has happened, but I think it goes a lot deeper than that and I think it started earlier in the year.”
Francou and Dew played together at Port Adelaide in the early 2000s.
Gold Coast hosts the Power at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
